Sketch 2

My sketch is of flowers. I used different lines to create texture and overlapping of the leaves and petals for depth. As an extension project the class could grow their own flowers then draw them after they bloom.

Sketch 1

In our sketch book I drew a barn with a mountain snow top scene behind it. For an extension project students could do a Languague Arts lesson about writing about something that means the most to them and why they drew it.

In this project we blended colors with pastels. We took paper towels or our finger to blend in the colors. We did one with volume of a shape and then the final one with a landscape picture. As an extension project the students could make their picture about what they see when traveling in a car and then right a story about a vacation they took and tell what they saw out the window.

Printmaking

In this lesson in printmaking we made holiday cards. We took stryofoam and made a design and then rolled ink onto in and printed it to our cards. As an extension project the students could write letters to someone special about what the holiday means to them and then send it to them.

Garden Stepping Stones

In this project we made stepping stones. We could use anything that could be but in cement. I put in a picture of my parents and I at my confirmation. As an extension project we could do some math problems to do measurement of shapes and other objects.

Creating Comic Strips

In this project we created a 6 slide comic strip. I created a hungry ant and how he became full. We also talked about line and face expression. An extension on this could be in Language Arts as a story that is written in many pages and then pictures also.

Vanishing Point

In this project we made a vanishing point by a road with buildings. The hard thing was making sure the lines were the right way and if they had to go with the vanishing point or straight. An extension project that could be done with this could be math. In math class they could measure the exact angle of the vanishing point and have all the measurement correct.

Native American Art

We colored sandpaper then transfered it to paper. I really liked how the lesson was taught and what could be done with these. In an extension activity the students could make a large paper quilt each having a square that they make like Native American Art and then put them all together. Then they could right about how they could make this into something and use it.

Me, Myself, and My Initials

With this lesson I really liked how you could put pictures in there instead of ads. I used patterns that I like and colors and items that I are around me at all times. In an extension activity if a student uses really pictures they could right about why they used those pictures and what they mean to them.

Clay Experience

I made a rose flower for my clay experience because I like to make flowers with clay. I had made a flower before in Pottery class in high school . I liked playing with the clay. In an extension activity they could make something from their science section and then write about it and be able to display the science project and writing.

Lexicon Collages

Transform - To change into something else
Hope- to wish something good upon a person
Homeless - to be without a home or shelter
Attachment: to put things together
With the Lexicon collages it was interesting to exchange the picture and then get them back and see what other people think of the word. I really liked a couple of my words but was disappointed on what happened to it when it got exchanged. An extension activity could be a writting story about each word and what would happen to the student if that word happened to them. Example: Homeless- What would happen to you and your family if you became homeless and how would you feel about it?

Scratch Art Drawing

I chose to draw flowers for my scratch art. I used different lines and shapes to create a depth of the flowers. I also overlapped the floors so it looks like they are laying on each other. An extension activity that could be used with this art project could be with Langauge Arts. They could draw their picture then write a story or short poem about the picture explain to the class why they drew the picture.
